There are many teachers T who used YouTube to reach their students during the lockdown in 2020. But the work of one teacher in Junagadh has been recognized by YouTube on the parameters of economic, societal, and cultural benefits from YouTube in India.
Baldev Pari, who teaches mathematics at Kathrota secondary government school in Junagadh district, started using YouTube nine years before the Covid-induced lockdown. He created his own studio at a cost of Rs 7 lakh, so he could provide online education to students way back in 2011. He would regularly post educational videos on his YouTube channel.
Pari, who won the national teacher's award for his teaching and technological innovation, used his studio in such a way that the blackboard appears on the screen, and he appears behind it. What he writes appears on the screen.

their communities. It posted one such profile of a person from every state and Union territory. From Gujarat, Pari's profile found a place on the website.
The profile reads: "Baldev Pari's channel has more than 1,000 videos and millions of views. Students from various socio-economic backgrounds are able to use his channel to augment their formal education."
Pari also started his own portal, www.baldevpari.com, in 2011, to circulate educational material for free. On how he started this channel, Pari said: "When I was teaching, I under- stood that some weak students needed extra tuition, but they could not afford it. If I started free tuition, how many students could I handle? So I started a YouTube channel."
Pari's wife, his computer engineer daughter, and his son who has studied cyber security help him.
